Arka Gurukul Commences Academic Year 2025-26 with New Batch and Celebrates Student Achievements

Inauguration, Sit & Draw Prize Distribution, and Farewell Ceremony Mark a Joyful and Inspiring Start to the Year

Arka Gurukul, an educational initiative under the NBIRT (NB Institute for Rural Technology), welcomed the new academic year 2025-26 with a simple yet joyful inauguration ceremony held at its campus in Sekerkote. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the institution, as well as for the newly admitted students selected from economically backward sections of rural Tripura.

The event was graced by distinguished guests including the Chief Guest, Shri Santosh Kumar Ray Choudhury, Headmaster of PM SHRI Sekerkote H.S. School. Special guests included Smt. Parbati Choudhury, Pradhan of Bikramnagar Gram Panchayat; Smt. Jharna Rani Das, Pradhan of Sekerkote Gram Panchayat; Adv. Abhijit Gonchoudhuri, Hony. Secretary of NBIRT; Er. Kapil Baran Bhowmik, Vice President, NBIRT; Er. P.L. Ghosh, Technical Advisor, NBIRT, along with other NBIRT activists.

This year, Arka Gurukul has selected 16 students, among whom 3 boys and 2 girls were chosen through a rigorous selection process held on April 17. These students hail from various rural areas including Darogabari, Chowmuhani Bajar, Pandabpur, and others. Their entire educational needs — including tuition, food, clothing, books, and stationery — are being fully sponsored by generous well-wishers of NBIRT, known as “Arkaneer.”

New Students Enrolled:

Purabi Das – Darogabari, Sekerkote

Riya Sarkar – Chowmuhani Bajar

Pranajit Das – Pandabpur

Arghya Shukla Das – Dinadayal Chowmuhani

Dipangshu Das – Sekerkote

Arka Gurukul follows a holistic model of education inspired by the ancient Indian Gurukul system, blending academic studies with value-based learning. Students are also trained in basic computer skills, arts, and both indoor and outdoor games. An annual educational tour within Tripura is part of the curriculum, fostering experiential learning and broader exposure.

The financial and technical support of Arkaneer — including donors like Mitali Ghosh, Santanu Debbarma, Debalina Gupta, and others — has been instrumental in sustaining the Gurukul’s mission to uplift underprivileged children.

Sit & Draw Competition Prize Distribution:

Coinciding with the session's commencement, the prize distribution for a Sit & Draw competition held on April 12 also took place. Over 40 children, divided into three age categories (3–5 years, 5+ to 8 years, and 8+ to 11 years), participated enthusiastically. The winners, including Triyangshu Das, Rakshita Das, Jiya Bhowmik, Riya Sarkar, and others, were awarded certificates and mementos.

Farewell Ceremony:

The event also included a heartfelt farewell ceremony for three senior students who graduated from Arka Gurukul. They were felicitated with certificates and mementos in the presence of guests and mentors, who wished them well for their future pursuits in higher education and life.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a group photo session involving students, guests, and proud parents — capturing the spirit of hope, achievement, and community that defines Arka Gurukul.
