Arka Gurukul Marks International Yoga Day 2026 with Enthusiastic Student Participation

Students, teachers, parents, and education leaders come together to promote health, mindfulness, and lifelong wellness through yoga

Sekerkote, West Tripura | June 21, 2026: Arka Gurukul celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation at its campus in Sekerkote, West Tripura. Organized with the support of the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT), the event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle.

The programme commenced at 9:00 a.m. with an inaugural message emphasizing the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life for maintaining good health and inner peace. Students from different classes actively participated in the yoga session, which was conducted by Yoga Instructor Ms. Rupasree Chakraborty.

Under expert guidance, participants performed a series of yogasanas, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, and Pranayama. The session focused on improving flexibility, physical strength, concentration, and emotional resilience while encouraging students to adopt healthy habits from an early age.

The event was attended by Smt. Tultul Chakraborty, Principal of Arka Gurukul, along with Mr. Arun Acharya, Project Officer of the SUNIL Project; Mr. Nandan Chakraborty, Senior Executive of the MFEP Project; and teachers Ms. Sagnik Roy and Mr. Ganga Das. Parents and guardians were also present, lending their support and encouraging the young participants throughout the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Smt. Tultul Chakraborty highlighted the importance of nurturing healthy lifestyles among children. She noted that regular yoga practice plays a vital role in enhancing physical health, mental wellness, and emotional balance, adding that today's children are the foundation of a healthier, more disciplined, and responsible society.

The celebration concluded with a collective pledge by students, teachers, parents, and guests to make yoga a part of their daily routine and continue practicing it for a healthier and happier future.

The event reflected Arka Gurukul's ongoing commitment to holistic education by fostering values of discipline, wellness, and mindfulness alongside academic excellence.
