Arka Scholarship Programme 2025: Celebrating Young Talent in Tripura

Eleven Meritorious Students Honoured at Prestigious Felicitation Ceremony

Agartala, February 6, 2025 — The NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) Arkaneer, through its academic wing, successfully hosted the Arka Scholarship Distribution Programme 2025 at Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School, Agartala. Since its inception in 2004, the initiative has stood as a beacon of academic excellence, recognizing and nurturing bright young minds across Tripura.

This year, 142 students appeared for the competitive examination, with 11 outstanding achievers selected to receive the prestigious scholarship grant of ₹5,000 each. Notably, ten of the awardees were girl students, underscoring the growing empowerment and participation of women in education.

Distinguished Guests and Key Highlights

The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Justice Mr. Arindam Lodh, Chairman of the Tripura Human Rights Commission, as Chief Guest. Professor (Dr.) Shaon Ray Chaudhuri, Department of Microbiology, Tripura University, attended as Special Guest, while the event was presided over by Professor (Dr.) Shantipada Gon Chaudhuri, renowned solar scientist and Founder of ARKANEER.

  • Professor (Dr.) Shantipada Gon Chaudhuri emphasized skill development, women empowerment, solar technology, and climate change, urging students to remain future-ready while staying grateful to parents, teachers, and society.

  • Justice Arindam Lodh highlighted values of humanity, social responsibility, and ethical conduct, reminding students of their duties towards society and the nation.

  • Professor (Dr.) Shaon Ray Chaudhuri encouraged students to pursue research-oriented careers and extended support through her Microbiology Research Laboratory.

A Commitment to Inclusive Education

The programme concluded with an interactive session, leaving students inspired and motivated. The felicitation reaffirmed NBIRT-ARKANEER’s unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, promoting inclusive education, and empowering the youth of Tripura.
