In a bid to provide alternative employment opportunities for rural women, the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) organized a comprehensive Tailoring Skill Development Program. Sponsored by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, the program aimed to equip participants with valuable skills in tailoring over a four-month period.

Under the guidance of TOT certified Master Trainer, Gopa Sarkar Gupta, 30 trainees embarked on a journey to enhance their tailoring expertise. The program's inauguration ceremony took place on November 29, 2023, at "ARKANEER" in Sekerkote, Tripura. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Kapil Baran Bhowmik, Vice President of NBIRT, along with Mr. P.L. Ghosh, Senior Engineer and Advisor, and Mr. A. Gonchoudhry, Secretary of NBIRT.

Over the course of the training, participants delved into various aspects of tailoring, mastering techniques and gaining hands-on experience. With a focus on empowering rural communities, the program aimed to foster self-sufficiency and economic independence among women.

As the program drew to a close on March 27, 2024, it marked a significant milestone in the journey towards rural empowerment. The successful conclusion of the Tailoring Skill Development Program highlights the commitment of NBIRT and its partners to upliftment through skill enhancement and sustainable livelihood initiatives.
