Ernst & Young's EY STEM App Empowers Girls in North-East India through Innovative CSR Initiative

Ernst & Young, a global organization renowned for its commitment to innovation and social responsibility, has launched the EY STEM app, a groundbreaking initiative designed to ignite a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among girls aged 13-18 years. Headquartered in Delhi, this initiative is a part of EY's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project and aims to provide free, lifelong access to high-quality educational content.

The EY STEM app stands out for its curated content sourced from prestigious institutions such as UC Berkeley, UPENN, Stanford, UNDP, NASA, World Economic Forum, and EY's own Women in Technology team. Offering an ad-free and secure learning environment, the app requires only a smartphone or tablet, an email ID for registration, and internet connectivity to access its wealth of resources.

In a significant collaboration, NB Institute for Rural Technology, a leading research and training institute focusing on renewable energy and rural technology, has joined hands with EY India to promote and demonstrate the EY STEM app in North-Eastern India.

Through a series of one-day awareness programs, NB Institute for Rural Technology has been actively engaging with schools across the region to introduce the EY STEM app to students and teachers alike. To date, 18 awareness programs have been conducted in reputed schools across various districts, garnering positive feedback and valuable experiences from participants.

The ongoing awareness program has already reached a total of 1,135 girl students, providing them with hands-on experience with the EY STEM app and its educational offerings. With 865 students yet to be covered, NB Institute for Rural Technology is poised to extend its outreach further, having approached additional schools who have shown interest in collaborating.

In a statement, representatives from NB Institute for Rural Technology expressed their commitment to providing training to the remaining students, highlighting the creation of specific schedules for upcoming programs. As the initiative progresses, the institute aims to achieve its targets and provide proper documentation of its efforts.
