NB Institute for Rural Technology Launches Skill Development Programs in Beautician and Household Electrical Wiring

Inaugural Function Marks the Commencement of Training Supported by KVIC

Sekerkote, West Tripura - In a significant step towards empowering unemployed youth, especially rural women, the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) commenced skill development training programs in Beautician and Household Electrical Wiring. The inaugural function, held on December 25th, 2023, at the ARKANEER premises in Sekerkote, West Tripura, was graced by esteemed personalities, including the President of NBIRT, Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Gon Chaudhuri, and supported financially by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India.

 

Under this initiative, thirty unemployed youths were selected for the Beautician course, while another thirty were chosen for Household Electrical Wiring, with the aim of creating self-employment opportunities.

 

Prof. Gon Choudhury, in his inaugural address, shed light on the skill development scenario in Tripura, emphasizing the crucial need for providing skill training to both rural and urban youths. He urged participants to make the most of the training programs offered by NBIRT.

 

Former Project Director of TREDA & Project Manager, NBIRT, Sh. P.L. Ghosh, welcomed participants and provided insights into the background and objectives of the training program. Smt. Pampa Paul, the Master Trainer for the beautician course, discussed the scope and opportunities available through the training. The event also featured Smt. Rita Das, a successful young woman entrepreneur, who shared her valuable experiences with the trainees.

 

Sh. Anup Dey, Sr. Project Executive of NBIRT, played a key role in coordinating the entire event successfully and offered the formal vote of thanks. The event witnessed participation from various corners of Tripura, including master trainers, invitees, and NBIRT staff. The training programs are set to contribute to the development and empowerment of the local community by equipping youths with valuable skills for future employment prospects.
