NBIRT's Gurukul Initiative Empowers Economically Disadvantaged Students for Academic Success

In a heartening endeavor to uplift the educational prospects of economically weaker section students, the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) has been spearheading the Gurukul initiative since 2004-2005. Supported by generous contributions from well-wishers, this initiative aims to provide academic coaching and essential resources to students hailing from below the poverty line backgrounds.

The Gurukul program extends far beyond conventional tutoring, offering a holistic support system to its beneficiaries. In addition to academic guidance, students receive vital amenities such as stationery items, uniforms, sweaters, socks, and daily meals, ensuring they can focus on their studies without the burden of financial constraints.

Since its inception, NBIRT's Gurukul has been committed to nurturing academic excellence among its students. The institute's unwavering dedication is evident in its mission to facilitate top-ranking performances in school examinations. Through personalized attention and meticulous guidance, Gurukul students are empowered to compete for and secure the coveted first, second, and third positions in their respective classes.

In the academic year 2023-24, NBIRT's Gurukul witnessed the enrollment of 11 eager learners, each with a unique aspiration to excel. The cohort comprises students from various grade levels, showcasing the program's inclusive approach to educational empowerment:

• Class II: Anurupa Das and Debasaree Das

• Class III: Saptanil Das, Priya Deb, Arpita Laskar, and Utpal Deb

• Class IV: Doyal Chanda, Sagarika Das, and Debasmita Das

• Class V: Tusu Deb and Sayan Bhowmik

These bright young minds represent the future leaders of tomorrow, and NBIRT's Gurukul is dedicated to providing them with the tools and support needed to realize their full potential.
