NBIRT and BTCTE Sign MoU to Promote Green Energy and Entrepreneurship Development

Collaboration Aims to Foster Skill Enhancement, Innovation, and Sustainable Entrepreneurship among Students

On 24 November 2025, a significant milestone was achieved with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) and Bhavan’s Tripura College of Teacher Education (BTCTE). The MoU marks a strategic collaboration to strengthen Entrepreneurship Development, Skill Enhancement, and Green Energy Education.

The occasion also witnessed the successful conduct of an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on Green Energy, aimed at empowering students by nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset and encouraging innovation among aspiring entrepreneurs.

The event was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Rajat Dey, Hon’ble Principal of BTCTE; Dr. Mridul Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, BTCTE; Dr. Suprasad Lodh, Associate Professor, BTCTE; Er. Kapil Baran Bhowmik, Hon’ble Vice President, NBIRT; Advocate Abhijit Gon Choudhury, Hon’ble Secretary, NBIRT; Er. P. L. Ghosh, Hon’ble Technical Advisor, NBIRT; and Mr. Susanta Karmakar, Executive Secretary, NBIRT. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed with floral bouquets as a mark of respect and appreciation.

The programme commenced with an introduction to the Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme by Ms. Debasmita Ganguly, Research Scholar, NBIRT, who highlighted the objectives and vision of the initiative. Er. Kapil Baran Bhowmik delivered the Welcome Address, emphasizing NBIRT’s ongoing efforts in promoting entrepreneurship and technology-driven education.

Dr. Rajat Dey, Principal of BTCTE, stressed the importance of entrepreneurship as an alternative career pathway and encouraged students to seek guidance and support from NBIRT while exploring entrepreneurial opportunities. Er. P. L. Ghosh elaborated on the significance of green energy, emerging prospects in the sector, and the role of entrepreneurship in building a sustainable future. He also demonstrated the working of solar-based components to the students.

The central highlight of the programme was the formal signing of the MoU between NBIRT and BTCTE, establishing a collaborative framework for conducting Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP) and promoting green energy initiatives. This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term and impactful alliance focused on developing a skilled, innovation-driven generation.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Sh. Anup Dey, Project Officer, NBIRT, who acknowledged the valuable contributions of all dignitaries, faculty members, and enthusiastic students. The ceremony ended with a shared commitment to continue fostering innovation, green entrepreneurship, and meaningful academic–industry collaboration.
