NBIRT Organizes Inaugural Session for Internship Course Batch II of Rabindranath Thakur Mahavidyalaya Students

Ten-day internship programme commences with active participation of students and guidance from eminent dignitaries and resource persons

The inaugural session for the Internship Course – Batch II of the students of Rabindranath Thakur Mahavidyalaya (RTM) was successfully organised on 27th May 2026 by the NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT), Sekerkote. The programme was conducted following the request of the Principal-in-Charge of Rabindranath Thakur Mahavidyalaya for providing internship training opportunities to their students.

The 10-day internship programme commenced successfully with the enthusiastic participation of 18 students out of 19 enrolled participants. The students officially began their training and orientation under the guidance of NBIRT’s resource persons and eminent dignitaries present during the inaugural session.

The programme was graced by the presence of distinguished guests including Er. P.L. Ghosh, Technical Advisor, NBIRT; Sri Mohit Lal Acharjee, Senior Executive Member, NBIRT; and Prof. (Dr.) Sanchita Bhattacharjee, Professor, Department of Botany, Rabindranath Thakur Mahavidyalaya.

The session began with a warm welcome address delivered by Sri Mohit Lal Acharjee, who extended his heartfelt wishes to the students for a successful and enriching internship tenure. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the training sessions and make the best use of the learning opportunities provided by NBIRT.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanchita Bhattacharjee highlighted the objectives, importance, and practical significance of the internship programme in enhancing the students’ academic understanding, practical exposure, and skill development. She emphasized the value of experiential learning in preparing students for future professional and academic pursuits.

Er. P.L. Ghosh delivered an insightful speech on the activities and functions of NBIRT. He elaborated on the institution’s role and contributions towards skill development and rural technology-based training through workshops, internships, training programmes, and various developmental initiatives.

The inaugural session concluded on a positive and encouraging note, marking the beginning of an enriching learning experience for the participating students. The programme reflected NBIRT’s continued commitment towards promoting skill development, practical learning, and youth empowerment through quality training initiatives.
