Tripura's First Smart Toilet Installed at Chhankhala H.S. School


NBIRT and Department of Science & Technology Collaborate on Innovative Sanitation Project
The successful construction and installation of a Smart Toilet facility at Chhankhala H.S. School has been completed, marking a significant milestone for Tripura. This project, formulated by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and initiated by the NB Institute for Rural Technology (ARKANEER), proudly introduces the state's first smart toilet.

The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The guests discussed the features and benefits of the Community Smart Toilet. It was highlighted that the project plans to construct 10 smart toilets nationwide, with the installation at Chhankhala High School being one of the first completed.
The smart toilet boasts several advanced features, including a fully automated system that turns on the light and fan whenever the door opens, and a water tank on the roof that fills automatically. Additionally, the facility is equipped with consumable water and electric supply through solar power. The entire system is controlled via an app, ensuring a hassle-free experience for students and meeting high sanitation standards.
This innovative project underscores the commitment to improving sanitation infrastructure and providing modern amenities in educational institutions, enhancing the quality of life for students at Chhankhala H.S. School.
